Enrich Religious Life
A key mission of Diocese of Des Moines is to help people of all ages grow in their relationship with God and live as disciples of Jesus in their homes and communities. Formation begins at the home and continues at the parish, and families and catechetical leaders throughout the Diocese need the resources, training, education, and programming to fulfill this critical mission. The Ignite! Campaign will provide $3.5 million in funding to help deepen and enrich the religious lives of all by supporting efforts at both the parish and diocesan level.

| What is the Sharing Faith initiative? |
The Sharing Faith initiative will empower the family as the foundational unit of the spiritual life and engage communities by strengthening parishes’ digital presence. Sharing Faith programs will be delivered at the parish level and support projects geared toward:
• Offering more resources to those who are married, especially those newly married, those with younger families, and those in transition points in their lives.
• Improving pastoral outreach and formation opportunities for persons with disabilities.
• Providing early childhood formation opportunities before kindergarten.
• Helping parishes upgrade technology to improve streaming and digital content.

| What is the Securing Futures initiative? |
The Securing Futures initiative will invest in our catechetical leaders—those who are on fire with the Holy Spirit and passionate about bringing people closer to Jesus. They will be equipped with best practices and quality professional development to spiritually prepare the faithful to encounter and share Jesus in word, deed, and, most importantly, in the witness of our lives.

| Why do we need to modernize our technology and communication strategies? |
The pandemic has prompted a shift in how we communicate, and many of the technological changes over the last two years are here to stay. By modernizing technology and improving our digital presence, the Diocese can do more to effectively spread the Good News and instill the teachings of Christ into every aspect of daily life. A portion of the funds from this campaign will provide yearly grant support to parishes seeking to establish or enhance their technological capabilities for ministerial or faith formation programs.
