Stewardship
Operating under the principles and philosophy of stewardship as a way of life, the Stewardship Department is responsible for coordinating all fundraising efforts, including annual appeals and capital campaigns for the Diocese of Des Moines. The department's staff also collaborates with parishes, schools, Catholic Charities, Catholic Tuition Organization , the Catholic Foundation of Southwest Iowa, and other Diocesan entities to develop plans that advance the Diocese's mission and emphasize returning to God the many gifts with which we have been blessed. The Stewardship Department also serves as a resource for parishes with tithing, capital campaigns, and special collections.
For more information or questions, please feel free to contact Laura Holms, Director of Stewardship, at (515) 237-5079 or Renny Crawford, Annual Giving Coordinator, at 515-237-5083.
Parish Capital Campaigns
There may come a time when a parish or school needs to incorporate a capital campaign into a building project. The first step is to initiate conversation with the Director of Property Management, Safety and Security who will assist parishes or schools during the initial planning stages of a building project and direct you to Stewardship should a capital campaign be desired. A Project Information Form will be provided to your parish or school. This form is designed to organize all information needed to gain approval from the Office of the Bishop for projects totaling more than $25,000. Included in the form are questions regarding funding for the project and whether a capital campaign might be necessary. To review the full process, please visit the "Property Management and Security" tab found under Finance.
