Visitation, Funeral for Father Tom Kunnel

Father Tom Kunnel, born in India, became a missionary to the United States, serving since 2011 in our diocese in parishes in Imogene, Red Oak, Guthrie Center, Bayard and Panora. He died June 24.

While desiring to be hospitable to all who desire to come, due to the limitations on gathering due to COVID-19, the space at the cathedral and any overflow options still prohibits accommodations for the numbers of persons we know wish to pay their respects to Father Kunnel. Therefore, we are encouraged to participate in the Sunday visitation where mourners can come and go and to "attend" the Mass via livestream.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28 at St. Ambrose Cathedral from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with rosary at 1:30 p.m. and prayer service at 4 p.m. A livestream of the Mass of Christian Burial will begin Monday, June 28 at 10:30 a.m. Go to www.caldwellparrish.com and go to Father Kunnel's Tribute Wall page.

Everyone who comes to the funeral is expected to wear a face mask or shield.
