We appreciate the calls from the faithful bringing to our attention a mailing they received that purports to be an Iowa Catholic publication. This is not a newspaper produced or funded by the Diocese of Des Moines.

If you're looking for solid, faith-based information to help with your voting decisions, consider checking out the Iowa Catholic Conference. They have a wonderful flyer focused on Catholic principals and the U.S. bishops’ document “Faithful Citizenship.” The Catholic Church does not endorse or oppose candidates or political parties. However, it contributes to the political process by encouraging Catholics to take action in the political arena with a properly-formed conscience.
