News: Longtime Dowling Catholic Coach Dies
November 9, 2020
Dowling Catholic High School will not old classes on Monday as the community grieves the death of longtime coach, mentor and friend Tom Barnabo, who died last Saturday.
The school community prayed a virtual rosary on Saturday for Barnabo, who had been fighting COVID-19 when he died. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
"We know prayer can bring comfort and solace. This is a time of tremendous sadness for our entire Dowling Catholic community who had the privilege to know Tom as teacher, coach, colleague or friend," said school President Dr. Dan Ryan in an email to parents. "In his 24 years at Dowling Catholic, he made a real and lasting impact and will be greatly missed."
While students will not have classes, faculty and staff will report to school on Monday, Nov. 9.
Here is a KCCI story.
Eternal rest grant unto Tom, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace
