New priest assignments announced

Bishop William Joensen has made the following appointments effective July 13, 2023.

Rev. Michael Berner, from pastor of Our Lady of Grace, Griswold, and St. Timothy, Reno/Cumberland, to retirement.

Rev. Raphael Masabakhwa, from pastor of St. Anne, Logan, and St. Patrick, Missouri Valley, to medical leave.

Rev. David Fleming, from pastor of St. Pius X, Urbandale, to sabbatical. He will receive a new assignment upon completion of his sabbatical.

Rev. Trevor Chicoine, to pastor, Our Lady of Grace, Griswold; and St. Timothy, Reno/Cumberland, while remaining pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul, Atlantic; and St. Mary; and to the role of Vicar for Divine Worship.

Rev. Nicholas Stark, to canonical administrator at St. Elizabeth Seton, Carlisle, while also retaining some pastoral responsibilities at Christ the King, Des Moines.

Rev. Bradley Robey, from St. Pius X, Urbandale, to parochial vicar at St. Peter and Paul, Atlantic, St. Mary Parish, Anita; Our Lady of Grace, Griswold; and St. Timothy, Reno/Cumberland.

Rev. Nicholas Smith, from parochial vicar at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Parish, Ankeny, to parochial vicar at Christ the King Parish, Des Moines.

Rev. Mr. Emmet Tinley, from St. Patrick Parish, Council Bluffs, to retirement.
