Iowa Catholic Radio Brings Unique Talk Format to Home of The Music Man
March 13, 2025
On Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, Iowa Catholic Radio launched its newest signal, KDVM 89.3 FM, licensed to Mason City, Iowa. Broadcasting at 240 watts (directional) KDVM represents the 10th signal in the Iowa Catholic Radio Network, and its 7th owned and operated station.
The buildout provides new FM coverage to Mason City and the surrounding area. Along with the city of license, the station’s call letters (KDVM) pay homage to the popular Divine Mercy devotion, as well as the Archdiocese of Dubuque.
Featuring the boyhood home of Broadway hit composer Meredith Wilson (The Music Man), the only Frank Lloyd Wright designed hotel still in existence (Park Inn Hotel), the airport where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper took off from on their fateful flight of February 3rd, 1959 (often referred to as the Day the Music Died), and the venerable Iowa Traction railroad line, Mason City boasts some of the most iconic and storied locations in the state of Iowa.
Iowa Catholic Radio first ventured into northern Iowa earlier this year with a new FM signal covering the entire Iowa Great Lakes (Okoboji) region.
Now celebrating its 20th year of broadcasting, Iowa Catholic Radio’s mission is to connect people to Christ and His Church on their faith journey. In addition to local/regional programming as well as nationally syndicated broadcasts, the Mason City area will also receive coverage of its own local weather and events.
Iowa Catholic Radio is also available everywhere via the free Iowa Catholic Radio mobile app, which features a variety of podcasts and devotional content on demand, along with the Iowa Catholic Radio Sacred Music channel.
