Today was the last day Iowa Catholic Radio listeners woke up to Jon Leonetti hosting “The Morning Show.”

While he’s been connecting listeners to Christ through short interviews with a variety of people weekday morning for 16 years, he says he wants to spend more time on long-form interviews for the Catholic radio network.

“I just love having great conversations for those 15 minutes” in the mornings, he said. “I want to go even deeper. I want to cast the net out to maybe what I define as cultural Catholics, people who are not in the life of devotion but questioning, and asking some of those questions.”

And he’s committed to providing that content to Iowa Catholic Radio.

“It’s a lifestyle in a lot of ways and it will continue to revolve around this radio station because I’m so passionate and love it,” he said during this morning’s 7 a.m. show. “I commit to you Iowa Catholic Radio will be bringing to you some of the best interviews you’re ever going to hear.”

His last comments on today’s morning show were filled with gratitude.

“I want to take the last minute here and thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for what you’ve been to me. You’re a family to me,” he said. “So I’m going to sign off. I love all of you. God bless you. We’ll talk to you soon. I’m Jon Leonetti. Be confident in Christ’ s mercy and his love.”
